REVIEW: UPDATED - Craftworx Enduro Gravel Wheels

Nick has recently picked up his Craftworx Enduro Gravel wheels we built for him in time for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100km race. We were lucky to have some time up our sleeve to build them a week early for a bit of a recon ride and to suss out tyre pressures and give them a bit of a shake down!

Nick was upgrading the stock wheels that came on his Trek Checkpoint and wanted something with faster rolling, better width and to reduce some weight. We advised on an upgrade to bladed spokes to improve on the compliancy of the ride, something very important on long rough trails.

And the results are in...

'Nathan & Mark,

When I came in to discuss wheels I mentioned that I was doing the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100km race and I thought I would let you know how I went after purchasing the Enduro wheelset.

After my first Brisbane Valley Rail Trail 100km race in June 2018 I was a bit disappointed with my time. Fast forward 12 months to June 2019, alot of cycling, a bit of fitness improvement, better nutrition and a new set of Craftworx Enduro gravel wheels, I managed to knock off over hour and finish in 4th spot in a time of 3 hours 31 mins!

The new wheelset knocked off over 0.5kg from the old set and was definitely noticeable. Very happy with the wheelset advice and purchase. Definitely recommend.

Cheers Craftworx!'

Thanks Nick!

UPDATE - Nick has used his Craftworx Enduro Gravel Wheels to set a new Australian record!!

'Nathan,

Been meaning to provide another update!

After the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail End to End race (161km) was cancelled, I decided I was going to do it anyway. In 2018 I really struggled to complete the distance and I decided I wanted to power over the line in 2019 rather limp like 2018. I hoped to complete the full rail trail in under 7 hours. I even made bar stem race notes! Somehow I managed to complete the full end to end rail trail from Wulkuraka station to Yarraman station in 6 hours and 56 mins. I posted my time to the BVRT facebook group and in a tongue in cheek way I asked if I had won the race. Then I got contacted by a representative of Road Record Association of Australia and told that I set a new men's unsupported record! Definitely wouldn't have done it without the Craftworx Enduro wheelset! Cheers
