Every rider is different, so the design approach for all Craftworx wheels is to look at a rider profile and design wheels that deliver performance, amazing ride quality and ride dynamics specifically tuned to match that profile.

We use different rim profiles, depths and components to achieve different dynamics that then deliver a wheel to suit the intended rider profile.

ULTIMA SL

The Ultima SL wheels use a 25mm deep profile that has more vertical stiffness than the Ultima SSL (only 23mm deep). For a rider between 70 and 85kg, this rim profile will give you the correct ride dynamics and maximise performance.

It allows for the correct amount of rim suspension for this weight range. The result is exceptional performance while the extra depth over the SSL provides more lateral stiffness. This extra lateral stiffness is important for the cornering forces, efforts out of the saddle when climbing or sprinting and power transfer.

Dynamically Balanced

The result is a wheel set that is dynamically balanced for a rider in the 70-85kg range.

All Craftworx wheels are handbuilt to order. We use high quality bladed spokes to to create the perfect balance between even spoke tension and ultimate strength without adding unnecessary weight.

The wheels provide excellent braking performance with a precision, twice machined braking surface. We offer two brake surface finishes with silver and black. The black finish will wear over time back to a silver, but is popular with its super clean and classy look when new, especially important for that first ride photo.

The wheels can be used with tubeless tyres or clincher tyres (with tubes) and they are supplied with the rim tape fitted.

These wheels are optimised for 25 and 28mm tyres but you can easily use down to 23mm tyres and when clearance allows tyres up to 32mm will also fit on these wheels.

Each rim brake wheelset comes with our Ultima Quick Release Skewers that weigh only 71 grams.
